In the past I had a slush fund known as GMAC to cover these as cash buys. Now that that savings vehicle is so untrustworthy and interest is so low, I no longer have my self financial fund but do have fairly good GM vehicles that may get me into retirement yet.

Don't like dealing with insurance companys. They are quick to raise premiums but slow in giving a settlement.

If you have a new car and a loan this insurance is necessary. If you have an old car, probably not worth buying?

if you have a piece of crap car, DO NOT BUY FULL COVERAGE!!! If you have a nice ride, INSURE IT WITH FULL COVERAGE!!!! End of story.

I remember the days before the insurance nazis were able to force everyone to buy their product. I teach guitar lessons for a living. I'd love it if the government would pass a law that says everyone HAS to take guitar lessons. I'd have a full schedule all year every year!

In MA if you have comprehensive the insurance co is required to cover glass with zero deductible. That was a good requirement because people had incentive to get their windshields replaced. In Ohio people just drive around with spidered windshields, ie. safety hazard, because of deductibles.
