Gas Prices Are Out of (Your) Control

The Street -- It's good to be an oil-producing country, but even with the U.S. profile as an oil producer on the rise [...] other countries retain far greater influence over the ups and downs in the pain at the pump.

No, gas prices aren't out of control compared with the rest of the world, however, the past week's action in gas prices does show that gas prices remain out of your control, specifically. A spike often has nothing to do with actual consumption, little to do with dynamics in the oil market supply chain, but amounts to much ado about geopolitical risks dominating the headlines.

Obama also said under his energy plan electric prices would skyrocket. Which if he is reelected and the green energy plan with carbon taxes etc persist will happen. Either way Gasoline prices can be kept more reasonable with appropriate controls on Exportation. Reverting back to the previous limits on Speculation on Commodities in US markets & removing US commodities from Speculative buying on European markets. Also by adequate production of oil & distillation by American Companies. Just like many oil producing countries in the World, the USA can keep petroleum prices lower in their own nation than the world market prices. Of course Canada is another nation that doesn't seem to sell to their own people cheaper than they sell to the rest of the world.

Gas pricesare the same!! It is just that Europeans are very heavily taxed!! This is what the DOE Director (Chue?)meant that he wanted prices her to raise to European Levels!! The only way to do that is to rais our taxes to their level!!!
