Toyota to sell fuel cell vehicle in 2015

Detroit Free Press -- TRAVERSE CITY -- Toyota plans to sell a fuel cell vehicle in 2015, which would make it a leader in a technology that most other automakers regard as about 10 years from being marketable.

Toyota is sticking to its timetable of selling a fuel cell sedan in three years, said Justin Ward, advanced powertrain program manager at the Toyota Technical Center in Ann Arbor.

Initially, it likely will be sold in California, which plans to have 68 hydrogen fueling stations by the end of 2015, Ward said at the Center for Automotive Research Management Briefing Seminars. Michigan has not made a similar commitment.

Lower the cost of the fuel cell down to a reasonable level so people can afford the vehicle. Use fuel other than expensive hydrogen.
My vehicle runs good, its paid for, gets decent MPG and I will Not be replacing it with anything else! I will drive my current vehicle into the ground before buying anything new, used, EV, Inbred, diesel, hydrogen, alternative fuel, CNG, concept or anything with a fuel cell.
With 'coming out of the closet' Barry's lousy, smoke and mirrors, lack of jobs, dog and pony show and in the crapper economy, who can afford to buy a new vehicle or the fuel to go for it.! Barry can spin the jobs numbers so they look much better than what they really are, he's a smooooth talker if there ever was one!
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

I wonder how you arrange uncontrolled acceleration in an electric vehicle? I'm sure they'll find a way...

And if they can pay AAA to supply tow trucks to carry fuel cell refills for all the vehicles out of fuel sitting at the side the road.

Maybe in 2016 or 2017 I MIGHT consider getting another car but I doubt it. I have to have my very first smog test this year, sob, sob. Only 6 years old. Toyota can make a forever car if one maintains it properly.
